Yongma Land is a small abandoned amusement park in Yongmasan, Jungnang District, Seoul, South Korea. It closed due to low profits, but is open to anyone for 10,000 won per day. It is now a hot spot for cosplay and various other trends.

Yongma Land opened in 1980 as a humble, family-friendly amusement park. Yongma Land was a popular location for local families for the first decade after it opened. However, when Lotte World opened in 1989, people lost interest in this humble, neighborhood amusement park. The park officially ceased operation in 2011. Though it is no longer operating as an amusement park, the old-school and unique dilapidated atmosphere continue to attract visitors from niche markets such as photographers, as well as professionals in the video production industries.

The park is open to visitors at an entrance fee of KRW10,000 per person. The cost will be used to maintain a certain level of dilapidation in the park. The lights of the merry-go-round could be turned on at a standard charge of KRW 25,000 for about 10 minutes. However, if you’re lucky, the owner of the park might switch it on for you for free.

Ever resourceful, Yongma Land’s current owner has found different ways to generate income, including arranging for popular Korean music videos and television shows to be shot there. He also allows visitors to explore the grounds and take photographs for 5,000 Korean won (about US $5.00) per person.

During the walk, between the rides , you will find various machines and statues that were used in the park. We can see that their condition has deteriorated over time, as rust has set in and the various paints are starting to fade more and more. It is all this that gives a certain charm to the place .Carousel in Yongma LandYongma Land South Koreayongma land amusement park

There are plenty of spots in the park that should inspire you to take pictures  ! Don’t hesitate to soak up the place and get on the rides  !

It is very likely that you will meet people during your visit. Despite this, Yongma Land remains a very quiet place . We feel a certain feeling of nostalgia while strolling in the park!

Yongma Land retains its unique atmosphere as it remains frozen in time with little to no change. Its doors remain open for various purposes; it also serves as a popular filming location for various dramas, movies, and entertainment programs. Most notably, it was featured in the music videos of popular artists, including EXO, TWICE and IU.

The merry-go-round, which is the first thing visitors can see upon entering, is the most popular photo spot along with the mini train ride, pirate ship, and mini bus. Yongma Land’s vacant yet alluring vibes make it one of Seoul’s major photo attractions.
