Thanks to nature, a photographer creates extraordinary montages of wild animals

Nature in all its glory…

Josh Dykgraaf is a photographer and illustrator   based in Melbourne, Australia. A big fan of Photoshop , he loves manipulating images and promoting his work through his social networks and through exhibitions in his country. The real purpose of his work is quite simple: “ My real passion is to create things that have an impact on people”.

If the young man is a freelancer who works mainly for brands, he is also – in his spare time – a master at creating wild animals of a new kind .

By using the “materials” on the dozens of nature photos ( leaves, trees, mountains, snow, branches , etc.) taken all over the world, Josh Dykgraaf will completely rethink the animal by integrating all the new elements . Thus, the elephant ‘s skin will be the mountains of the Alps; the deer’s ears are actually the frozen trees of Colorado , etc. All the creations have been grouped together in a series called “Terraform” .

According to the Design Swan site , an average montage takes between 30 and 60 hours and has between 2000 and 3000 layers in Photoshop! Patience is therefore also a virtue for this artist…

Through his work, Josh Dykgraaf recalls the importance of protecting the animals of our planet . His creation of the two Australian pandas coming out of the fire will not leave anyone indifferent .
