Discover : Pok Fu Lam Terraced Cemetery in Hong Kong

The tombs witness a sunset every evening, a very beautiful final resting place!

The private cemetery in the Pok Fu Lam (or Pokfulam) district in the western part of Hong Kong is an astonishing sight: built on the mountainside in steps connected with stairs, the cemetery resembles a giant amphitheater in the middle of air.

Pok Fu Lam Cemetery, also known as Chinese Christian Cemetery , was built in 1882 on the hills of Pok Fu Lam district in Hong Kong, nestled between Pok Fu Lam Road above and Victoria Road below. The necropolis was built from the heights and as the cemetery grew it was widened downwards towards the Victoria Road . Today, part of the cemetery is even beyond Victoria Road (see the satellite view at the bottom of the article).
